For Kids and Parents

Kim Teaching Visitor Program
The Cary Institute gives kids a chance to be ecologists and to experience, first hand, the joys of exploration, immersion in nature, and discovery. These are rare and special opportunities for children to work with cutting edge scientists and educators in our unique setting.

Current opportunities include:

Ecology Camp - Week-long summer day camp sessions for children entering grades 2 through 7.

Youth Eco-Leaders - Talented older students help Cary Institute educators teach Ecology Camp!

Young Environmental Scientists' (YES) Conference - Area school students share their science fair or other environmental research projects with each other, Cary Institute scientists, and the general public.

Public programs and events - Learn about lectures, workshops, field programs, and other opportunities at the Cary Institute.
