Summer Institutes

Teacher training on Cary's 2,000 acre campus and nearby field sites. In addition to exposure to the Cary Institute's scientific staff, participants are given the opportunity to strengthen their analytical skills and learn methods of integrating ecosystem concepts into their lesson plans.

Ecology in Context-Teaching Stream Phenology

This course will allow you to help your students connect stream ecosystems with climate change through hands-on investigations, discussions with Cary Institute scientists, and lessons for your students. (Grades 6-12)

Using Gardens to Teach Summer Workshop

Join the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies and the Poughkeepsie Farm Project for three days of hands-on learning about how to integrate using gardens in the classroom. (Open to all formal and informal educators)

Marsh Ecology Workshop

Cary Institute freshwater ecologist Dr. Stuart Findlay leads a two day field-based workshop that will highlight the impact of climate change on Hudson River tidal wetlands. The workshop will take place in August, 2013. (Grades 6-12)
