Birders: The Central Park Effect

Friday, August 9, 2013 - 7:00pm

Discover the extraordinary array of wild birds found in Manhattan's celebrated patch of green, and the equally colorful New Yorkers who schedule their lives around the rhythms of their migration.

An idiosyncratic trombone technician, a septuagenarian bird-tour leader, and author Jonathan Franzen are among the lively cast of characters in this charming, lyrical documentary that transports the viewer to the hidden avian world of one of America's most famous parks.

A Q&A with director Jeffery Kimball will follow the 60 minute film.
