It's a Stream's Life

Sunday, July 27, 2014 - 1:00pm

Join Cary Institute scientist Dave Strayer for a walk along the Wappinger Creek Trail and see what is happening in a small trout stream during the summer. Strayer will collect and observe stream insects, streamside vegetation, and talk about Cary's research on freshwater ecology.

Participants will collect and observe stream insects, streamside vegetation, and whatever else they encounter; you may find dragonfly or mayfly nymphs, whirligig beetles, or even a crayfish.

Wear comfortable walking shoes, be prepared for ticks and mosquitoes, and bring rain gear if the forecast calls for it.
