River Sweep 2013

Saturday, May 11, 2013 - 9:00am

Join the Cary Institute and the City of Poughkeepsie Common Council for the second annual Make Poughkeepsie Shine cleanup. The group of volunteers meeting at Waryas Park will focus on the waterfront, including Waryas, Kaal Rock Park, the Fallkill Creek and surrounding streets and city parks. Make Poughkeepsie Shine is part of the 2013 River Sweep, organized by Riverkeeper.

We will be cleaning up the waterfront starting at 9am until noon.  Trash bags, plastic gloves, and waders will be provided (for deeper parts of the creek).  Volunteers are encouraged to wear old clothing and bring work gloves along with water.  Snacks will be provided for the volunteers.
