Mike Rubbo, Director of the Teatown Lake Reservation, will lead a workshop for municipal officials and professional biologists who want to gain experience identifying and assessing woodland pools.
- Learn the ecology and natural history of woodland pools
- Discuss the regulatory status of pools and their conservation
- Identify potential pools remotely using maps and aerial photographs
- Visit pools in the field to assess their status and overall quality
Participants will use satellite images to identify pools remotely and verify pool locations in the field and assess their overall quality. Conservation methods will be discussed.
Participants representing municipalities will receive a certificate of completion for 4 hours of training credit.
Registration required. Space is limited. The workshop will meet at the main building followed by field study.
