The Ecology of Lyme Disease Outdoor Program

Saturday, October 20, 2018 - 10:00am

Did you know that the Cary Institute's 2,000-acre research campus is a field lab for studies on how environmental conditions shape tick-borne disease risk?

For more than two decades, our researchers have been unraveling links among acorn production, small mammal abundance, blacklegged ticks, and tick-borne disease.  Cary's Kelly Oggenfuss will demonstrate small mammal live-trapping, tree seed collection, and tick drag-sampling.
