Geology & Ecology of the Cary Institute

Cary Institute ecologist Alan Berkowitz and Chazen Companies hydrogeologist Russell Urban-Mead will lead an interpretive hike to the top of Canoo Hill.

Explore geological time and the processes that shaped the Hudson Valley while enjoying stunning views of the Shawangunks and Catskills. From frost heaving and stream erosion to glaciers, participants will learn to read the landscape for evidence of change, while learning about the history of the Cary grounds.

Wear comfortable hiking shoes, and bring drinking water.
