Our Trails & Campus

Situated on nearly 2,000 acres in New York's mid-Hudson Valley, the Cary Institute offers visitors a range of recreational and learning experiences.

While most of our grounds are set aside for field studies, parts of the campus have been reserved for public education and enjoyment.

The Fern Glen, Lovelace Drive, and some trails will be temporarily closed for repairs on September 3.

The Lowland area is open; you may enter from Rt. 82 or Fowler Road. The Wappinger Creek Trail, the Sedge Meadow Trail, and the Cary Pine Trail are open; you may enter from Rt. 44 at Cary East.
