Vicky Kelly manages the Cary Institute's Environmental Monitoring Program, which includes monitoring climate as well as air, precipitation and streamwater quality. Data from the program have been used to understand the dynamics of road salt on a watershed scale as well as climate change on precipitation chemistry. Recent publications include Road Salt, Moving Toward the Solution and The State of the Environment, Dutchess County.
Environmental Monitoring at the Cary Institute is a long-term program designed to understand how our environment changes over time. Long-term monitoring allows us to evaluate legislation aimed at controlling pollution and climate change.
