A hands-on workshop where you will learn how to produce pigments from native and introduced plants, and use them in a simple art project.
Join us for a free workshop led by artist Heather Bird Harris, a former Cary Cannoo Hills Creative Arts Resident. This hands-on event will begin with an easy walk on Cary's grounds where participants will learn how to identify native and introduced plants that are a source of natural pigments. Then we will head indoors to learn recipes for making the plants into inks and explore painting and experimenting with the vibrant colors of upstate New York in the spring.
