MH-YES Program

The Mid-Hudson Young Environmental Scientist Program (MH-YES) is a paid 6-week, environmental science based summer research experience aimed to increase diversity in science. Selected high school students will conduct original water quality research and present their results to fellow scientists and community members.

Graduate Opportunities

Dedicated to science education, our ecology courses taught by institute scientists and graduate study opportunities advance the institute's goal of supporting the scientists of tomorrow.

REU Programs

The Cary Institute is home to one of the longest running Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) programs in the nation. Since 1987, more than 300 students have spent a summer conducting independent research with a Cary mentor. Our REU program gives students – often for the first time in their academic careers – the opportunity to engage in extended, hands-on ecological research.

Internships

The Cary Institute views credit-bearing internship arrangements as a 3-way partnership in which the student develops professional skills, the college provides credit and the Cary Institute acts as mentor for the development of those skills through the completion of an internship project.
