On Thursday, May 14 @ 11am ET, join us for a virtual scientific seminar by Dr. William Penual, University of Colorado Boulder.
As Robin Wall Kimmerer reminds us, “all flourishing is mutual.” But can we bring about mutual, reciprocal relations within our research that help us move together toward worlds that are flourishing? In this interactive lecture, we will together explore ways of thinking, doing, and being that support building caring partnerships among educators, researchers, and human and nonhuman communities. To guide us, Dr. Bill Penuel will anchor our discussion by presenting three different examples of research-practice partnerships from education that seek to embody relations of dignity-affirming care, exploring both the ideas and practices of these partnerships. Together we will explore what makes relations in research reciprocal, dignity-affirming, and caring, and how such relations can emerge from the joint negotiation and pursuit of questions that are grounded in shared concerns and dreams for a more just and sustainable future.
Free and open to all. Registration required via Eventbrite.
