Thank you for your interest in Cary EcoQuest! We have the following resources to supplement and enrich the experience of your EcoExplorer(s):

Main Booklet

Naturalist Badge: The mission of this badge is to notice and observe the different organisms in your habitat.

Field Tech Badge: The mission of this badge is to learn techniques to “take attendance” of the animals that live in your habitat and practice identifying them.

Field Ecologist Badge: The mission of this badge is to design and conduct your own field experiment to investigate more about animals and the food they consume.

Artist Badge: The mission of this badge is to use artistic techniques to explore, celebrate, and share your habitat.

Teacher Badge: The mission of this badge is to practice communicating ecology lessons by sharing what you have learned with your friends, classmates, and family.

EcoQuest Orientation

  • All details for the program are outlined in this orientation document.
  • List of simple materials to have on hand to aid ecology exploration
  • Supplemental videos and other learning resources 
  • Information and sign-in info for Padlet, a free community platform available to all EcoQuest participants.
  • There are individual pages for each badge to help guide EcoExplorers’ progress. EcoExplorers can watch how-to videos, post questions to fellow Eco-Explorers, share photo and video discoveries, and much more!

EcoQuest Orientation

To receive badges by the end of this year, all checklists for completed badges must be received by no later than Friday, December 10th. After this date, delivery of badges before winter break cannot be guaranteed. The program will continue through the end of the 2022 school year.

We hope you enjoy exploring the EcoQuest booklet materials and Padlet website with your child(ren) or students. We also encourage you to post photos of your EcoQuest adventure to social media with #caryecoquest. You can find us on Instagram @caryeducation.
